Jeremy is currently flitting from State to State to Province  in the USA and Canada. Here are two of the wine tasting events he will be presenting in California this week.

“Hair of the Dog” wine tasting Wednesday, March 18 at Zizzo’s Coffeehouse & Wine Bar in Capitola, CA from 5-8pm.

As it is the day after St. Patrick’s Day, people might just be looking for an antidote to green beer, cabbage and spuds.

If they are, this is it!  Jeremy will be presenting the following non-green wines to be paired with dishes from their small plates  menu.

  • The Den Chenin Blanc 2013
  •  “Rosalind” Pinotage Rosé 2014
  • The Den Pinotage 2012

$10 for the tasting (excluding the cost of food). Live piano music to accompany Jeremy’s performance.  Special bottle and case discounts will be available.

The next day will see a move 25 miles north to Los Gatos, California for a much more formal encounter with food and wine.

CinCin Wine Bar and Restaurant  Thursday, March 19  – Painted Wolf wine tasting with food created by chef Shingo Katsura.

Cin-Cin’s Executive Chef Shingo Katsura as created a 5-course menu to complement Painted Wolf wines.

Course 1

Halibut Ceviche – coconut milk, red onions, currants, tomatoes, chili oil
Wine: Painted Wolf, ‘The Den’ Chenin Blanc – vibrant, zesty and packed with flavour

Course 2

Crispy Buttermilk Quail – cumin beet puree, herbed cous cous, pickled green mango, rosemary jus.
Wine: Painted Wolf, “Rosalind,” Pinotage Rosé – brightest flavours of fresh summer fruit with a creamy mid-palate and a fresh, long finish.

Course 3

Bobotie spring roll ( lamb) – pinotage aigre douce –

Wine: Painted Wolf, ‘The Den’ Pinotage – luscious, fruit-packed and full-bodied.

Course 4

Braised Oxtail – yellow rice, jalapeño mango chutney

Wine: Painted Wolf, “Guillermo” Pinotage – a harmonious, hand made wine, with bold black and red berry fruit flavours and a savoury melange of exotic spice.

Dessert

Vanilla panna cotta with mango sorbet, passion fruit gel, almond tuille.
Wine: Painted Wolf “Peloton” Blanc – a vibrant barrel fermented blend of Chenin Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier with intense fruit and a long finish.
