Tasting Veritas gold and other adventures in wine
We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded 9 medals in total at this year’s Veritas awards.
Gold: “Penny” Swartland Viognier 2014
Silver: The Den Chenin Blanc 2015, Pictus II 2010
Bronze: The Den Cabernet Sauvignon 2013; Peloton Rouge 2012; Black Pack Shiraz 2010 (all still available); Paarl Rousanne 2014; “Guillermo” Swartland Pinotage 2012; Peloton Blanc 2014 (all not yet publicly launched).
Today, Jeremy arrives in Jo’burg for a few weeks of tastings and events, some private and some public. Here is the calendar of public events:
Wednesday October 14
Cellarmates wine club are the first tasters in this series of events
Thursday October 15

Saturday October 17
We will be at Norman Goodfellows, Illovo. 10a.m – 2 p.m.
Tuesday October 20 – Veritas tasting
We will be pouring at the 6th Annual Diamond Route Research Conference.
Emma will be at the Public Veritas Tasting in CapeTown. The Lookout, Waterfront, Cape Town from 5 – 8 p.m. Tickets available through computicket.
Thursday October 22
We will be presenting our wine at the Pirates Wine Club. See you there if you are a member.
Friday October 23- Sunday October 25
Find us at Africa Cycle Fair which is being held at St. Stithians School in Randburg.
Tuesday October 27 – Veritas tasting
Jeremy will be pouring at the Johannesburg Veritas Tastings. Bill Gallagher Room, Sandton Convention Centre from 5 – 8 p.m. Tickets available through computicket. For public tastings in other places – visit the Veritas website
Friday October 30
We are attending the Endangered Wildlife Trust A.G.M, pouring wines for members and hearing all about the Wild Dog Conservation projects we support.
Sunday November 1
Arrival of the Bee eaters Festival, Northcliff Ridge EcoPark. Come on up and explore the wonders of Northcliff ridge, enjoy the wonderful view of Jo’burg in jacaranda season and support the conservation of this area. For more information, contact Elma@wizz.co.za.
After all this running around, Jeremy gets to rest briefly on the flight back to Cape Town before passing the baton to Emma who will be winging her way to Hong Kong and China at the beginning of November.
