The story of this wine
This wine was named for Rosalind Koch. Ros and her husband, Pete grew the grapes for this wine. Ros also drew the delightful wild dog pup featured on the label.
A fine fruity wine with cherry, strawberry, peach and mineral aromas and a fresh lingering finish.
Pinotage grapes were sourced from our Painted Wolf pack members Ros and Pete Koch at Southern Cross farm in Simondium.
The grapes were hand picked into small baskets and taken to the cellar at Rheebokskloof where the wine making team of Trizanne Barnard and Rolanie Lotz were tasked to make the best possible Rosé. Grapes were destalked and gently crushed, sitting on skins for 12 hours. We pressed 8000 litres of juicy from 22 tons of grapes - the lightest and most elegant of pressings. The wine cold fermented in tank and was finished with Viognier lees.
This wine is delicious as a young wine and may bottle age for a few years.
