I was delighted to be invited as one of only fourteen food and beverage producers to participate at The Africa Food Show 2026 on the South African pavilion this year. This trade event is co- located with the Hotel & Hospitality Expo Africa at the at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) bringing together global and regional suppliers, buyers, and industry professionals from June 10–12, 2026,
I had no expectations as this was my first attendance of this show and was duly blown away with the response to our stand. Being one of the few wine producers at the entire event was a huge draw card and I conducted around 200 tastings per day over the three days. The focus was to find new importers and distributors across the globe of which I had some interested parties particularly for African countries such as Mozambique, parties from within South Africa and also, excitingly, Malaysia.
The majority of the tastings however were for trade professionals all over South Africa, many from hotels and lodges where our wines are already listed yet all important for the chefs and food service staff and managers to taste and hear our story for them to pass on to their guests. There were also many who worked in the industry and hadn’t come across our wines from a public perspective and were delighted to hear about our raising of awareness and dedication to impactful conservation, ensuring a future for the African wild dog, associated wildlife and surrounding communities. A huge number of business cards were taken and will hopefully lead to orders being placed and the story being passed along to others.
And of course there were students, keen to learn some just beginning their wine journey which of course must be highly encouraged!
Visitors were highly complementary and impressed with our having such a presence at the shows always and of course our celebration of 20 years of wines for conservation.
For me, it is always a joy to savour the expressions as people taste our wines and fall in love with our passion, to many more!
