The story of this wine

The den wines are social wines to be enjoyed with friends and family. These wines are named for the den, the heart of all African wild dog communities. Flavour-packed, soft and juicy comfort wines for every day drinking.

Jenny Metelerkamp produced a fine Painted Wolf ink drawing for the label.

Tasting notes

An elegant wine with gentle aromas, and flavours of tropical fruits, figs and minerality. This Sauvignon has a textured mouth feel, good balance and a gentle not overly acidic finish. The Den wines are comfort wines, and this wine delivers just that.

Food suggestions

The Den Sauvignon Blanc is delicious on its own or with simply served oysters on the half shell with brown bread and butter.

The vineyard

This wine is produced from a number of vineyards in the Swartland and Durbanville.

Great care has been taken to ensure that the grapes were picked at the correct time.

It is blended from grapes grown on a warm site and those from cooler vineyards. The wine was made at Rheebokskloof. It received the best possible attention, being blanketed with CO2 throughout the crushing and pressing process.

Ageing potential

This wine should be drunk within a year or two of the vintage.
